PIANO HISTORY

The earliest pianos were derived from the traditional Harpsichord and Clavichord. During the 17th century, the piano was invented. The main difference between the piano and both the harpsichord and clavichord was the introduction of a hammer-and-lever action that allows the player to modify the intensity of sound by the stronger or weaker touch of the fingers. Pianos were largely owned by royalty and generally the property of gentry and the aristocracy during the 18th and 19th centuries. As the population and prosperity of the middle classmen increased during this period, there was also an increase in the domestic importance of the piano. After quite some time, the piano became the major source of music in the home and the major source of entertainment.

In the new technology world, of the 21st century music instrument has improved along with other technologies. Electronic keyboards, unlike acoustic pianos, are electronic instruments that produce piano sounds through the use of sound chips. As a result, electronic keyboards are lightweight and easy to transport to different locations because it does not have the strings, hammers and soundboard that produce sounds in acoustic pianos. Electronic keyboards also produce different types of piano sounds and other instrument sounds such as strings, flute, percussion, guitar, and many more. Some electronic keyboards also have a built in sensitive touch or weighted keys that generate sensitive touch similar to those of acoustic piano; therefore giving musicians a good foundation for play piano. In addition, by using a headphone, it is virtually silent, so neighbors and others will not be disturbed when a person is practicing. Last, it also has the ability to record your performance by interacting with other electronic music devices (MIDI) and an electronic keyboard costs a lot less than an acoustic piano. This is why electronic keyboard is the best first instrument to introduce to any person of any age.
